Within the Program “EU Regional Support for Strengthening Border Security Capacity in the Western Balkans”, which has been implemented in cooperation with the FRONTEX, a workshop on “Mentoring and Networking”, in which 12 police officers from the border police departments of the Western Balkan countries participated, was held in 8-12. 9. 2025, in Berlin, Federal Republic of Germany.
The lectures at the workshop were given by President of Women Police Officers’ Network of the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Serbia and the President of the European Women Police Officers’ Network, police colonel Katarina Tomašević, and a member of the Women Police Officers’ Network of the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Serbia, police colonel Marija Brandić.
The President of the Women Police Officers’ Network of the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Serbia and the President of the European Women Police Officers’ Network, police colonel Katarina Tomašević gave lectures regarding the topics of networking, mentoring, skills and qualifications of mentors, modalities for establishing a mentoring program, strengthening internal capacities through effective communication, and each topic was followed by a practical exercise.
A member of the Women Police Officers’ Network of the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Serbia, police colonel Marija Brandić, delivered lectures focused on motivation, both personal and professional, through pragmatic approaches to understanding needs and goals, motivation theories, motivation techniques, encouraging motivation in the workplace, establishment of work in a multicultural environment, and each topic was followed by a practical exercise.
The expert knowledge and professional experience of police officers Katarina Tomašević and Marija Brandić provided an invaluable contribution to the successful implementation of the workshop, which was confirmed by the active participation of all participants, who highly appreciated their effort and commitment.
