Women’s Network Event – An Garda Siochana IRELAND

On Wednesday the 4th of November, Garda personnel gathered for the annual An Garda Siochana Women’s Network National Conference. A day dedicated to connection, reflection and empowerment.

This year’s theme “Empowering Voices, Inspiring Futures”, the conference highlighted the importance of collective action in shaping the next generation of women in policing.

The Commissioner Justin Kelly was there to open the event stating “Having a network, such as this, has so many benefits. It provides opportunities to explore themes and issues relevant to your success. It enables the meaningful participation of women and men in the workplace on equality matters. And, it serves to enhance dignity and respect of all in An Garda Síochána.”

An Garda Síochána Women’s Network continues to play a vital role in supporting, mentoring, and empowering colleagues, breaking down barriers and celebrating success across the organisation. Today, 36% of all Garda personnel are women, this figure reflects the progress made, but also the ongoing commitment to driving greater gender balance across all ranks and roles in the organisation.

Well done to all the attendees, who together raised €3,715 for the Irish Cancer Society during this special event.
